Vaiśaṃpāyana–Janamejaya Narrative

न्यवारयत्‌ तौ प्रहसन्‌ कुन्तीपुत्रो वृकोदर: । शक्तोहं राक्षसस्येति प्रेक्षध्वमिति चाब्रवीत्‌,परंतु कुन्तीकुमार भीमसेनने हँसकर उन दोनोंको रोक दिया और कहा--“मैं अकेला ही इस राक्षसके लिये पर्याप्त हूँ। तुमलोग चुप-चाप देखते रहो”

nyavārayat tau prahasan kuntīputro vṛkodaraḥ | śakto'haṃ rākṣasasye'ti prekṣadhvam iti cābravīt ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Lachend hielt Bhīma—Kuntīs Sohn, Vṛkodara, der „Wolfsbäuchige“—die beiden zurück und erklärte: „Ich allein genüge für diesen Rākṣasa. Bleibt still und schaut nur zu.“ Der Augenblick hebt Bhīmas beschützende Entschlossenheit und sein Selbstvertrauen hervor, da er die Verantwortung persönlich übernimmt, um seine Gefährten vor Gefahr zu bewahren.
