The Slaying of Yavakrīta at Raibhya’s Hermitage

Educational Q&A

Gentle inquiry and compassionate speech are proper responses to another’s distress, and ethical discernment (thinking carefully and refusing wrongful demands) is upheld as dharmic conduct.

Raibhya sees his daughter-in-law, the wife of Parāvasu, crying. He comforts her and asks the reason. She then reports to him what Yavakrīta said and narrates how she thoughtfully refused to accept his words.
