nigṛhītaṃ tu śūdreṇa yavakrītaṃ sa rākṣasaḥ | tāḍayāmāsa śūlena sa bhinnahṛdayo 'patat ||
When Yavakrīta had been seized by a śūdra, the rākṣasa struck him with a spear. His chest was torn open, and he fell there lifeless. The episode underscores how violence unleashed through adharma rebounds with fatal consequence, and how even an unexpected agent can become the instrument of retribution when one’s conduct has invited it.
लोगश उवाच
The verse highlights the destructive end that follows when one’s life becomes entangled in adharma and violence: harm returns as consequence, and the agent of that consequence may arise from unexpected quarters.
Yavakrīta is caught by a śūdra; then a rākṣasa attacks him with a spear, splitting his chest, and Yavakrīta collapses and dies on the spot.
