The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana
The verse emphasizes the moral authority of truthful report and communal witness: a noble deed gains ethical weight when attested by credible observers (here, Brāhmaṇas), and strength (Bhīma’s) is to be recognized when aligned with praiseworthy action.
Vidura tells the listener that he learned of Bhīma’s notable deed indirectly—by hearing Brāhmaṇas who had gathered there recount it—framing the event as widely known and reliably transmitted.
