The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana
The verse highlights steadfastness and ethical composure in adversity: even when deprived of sovereignty, Yudhiṣṭhira chooses a disciplined life of exile rather than abandoning dharma, approaching others respectfully and acknowledging their rightful domain.
Yudhiṣṭhira introduces his situation after losing his kingdom and explains that he has decided to live in the forest; he has arrived at a fearsome forest region that belongs to the person he is addressing, requesting acceptance of his presence there.
