नारदेन गरुडात्मजानां नामकीर्तनम् | Nārada’s Enumeration of Garuḍa’s Descendants

नित्यानुषक्तवैरा हि भ्रातरो देवदानवा: । परपक्षेण सम्बन्धं रोचयिष्याम्यहं कथम्‌,“यद्यपि देवता और दानव परस्पर भाई ही हैं, तथापि इनमें सदा वैरभाव बना रहता है। ऐसी दशामें मैं शत्रुपक्षके साथ अपनी पुत्रीका सम्बन्ध कैसे पसंद करूँगा?

nityānuṣaktavairā hi bhrātaro devadānavāḥ | parapakṣeṇa sambandhaṃ rocayiṣyāmy ahaṃ katham ||

Nārada sprach: „Obwohl die Götter und die Dānavas wahrhaft Brüder sind, währt ihre Feindschaft unaufhörlich. Wie könnte ich unter solchen Umständen je ein Bündnis für meine Tochter mit der feindlichen Seite billigen?“
