Kṛṣṇa at Duryodhana’s House: Refusal of Hospitality and Departure to Vidura (कृष्णस्य धार्तराष्ट्रनिवेशनगमनम्)
The verse highlights dharmic social conduct: auspicious rites and respectful honoring of the learned (dvija), and the ethical value of giving and ceremonial propriety (offering garments, jewels, and ornaments) as a public affirmation of order and goodwill.
In a ceremonially charged setting marked by puṇyāha proclamations, the twice-born are shown participating in mutual honor: they are being revered, and Brahmin-born men are also actively offering honors with valuable gifts such as clothing, jewels, and ornaments.
