Kuntī’s Lament and Govinda’s Consolation
त॑ प्रयान््तं महाबाहुमनुज्ञाप्प महाबलम् | पर्यवर्तन्त ते सर्वे वृकस्थलनिवासिन:
taṁ prayāntaṁ mahābāhum anujñāpya mahābalam | paryavartanta te sarve vṛkasthalanivāsinaḥ ||
Nachdem man jenem heldenhaften, starkarmigen und überaus mächtigen Mann, als er aufbrach, die Erlaubnis erteilt hatte, kehrten alle Bewohner von Vṛkasthala um. Die Szene betont die rechte Sitte beim Abschied: den Führer mit gebührender Zustimmung zu ehren und dann geordnet und maßvoll zurückzukehren, ohne Anhänglichkeit oder Unruhe zu stiften.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic decorum in transitions: one should formally grant or seek leave, honor the departing person, and then return without causing disturbance—an ethic of respect, restraint, and orderly conduct.
A powerful, heroic figure departs. After giving him permission/seeing him off, all the residents of Vṛkasthala turn back, indicating the conclusion of a send-off and the restoration of normal order.
