Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 71 — Kṣatra-dharma Counsel, Public Legitimacy, and Mobilization

न चेत्‌ प्रबुध्यते कृष्ण नरकायैव गच्छति । तस्य प्रबोध: प्रज्जैव प्रज्ञाचक्षुस्तरिष्पति,श्रीकृष्ण! यदि उसे फिरसे कर्तव्यका बोध नहीं होता, तो वह नरककी दिशामें ही बढ़ता जाता है। कर्तव्यका बोध करानेवाली प्रज्ञा ही है। जिसे प्रज्ञारूपी नेत्र प्राप्त हैं, वह निश्चय ही संकटसे पार हो जायगा

na cet prabudhyate kṛṣṇa narakāyaiva gacchati | tasya prabodhaḥ prajñaiva prajñācakṣus tariṣyati |

Yudhiṣṭhira sprach: „O Kṛṣṇa, wenn ein Mensch nicht zu seiner Pflicht erwacht, schreitet er nur der Hölle entgegen. Denn wahres Erwachen ist für ihn nichts anderes als die Einsicht (prajñā) selbst; und wer das Auge der Weisheit besitzt, wird die Gefahr gewiss überwinden.“
