Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Dialogue on Peace and the Refusal of Compromise

अड़्जेमां समवेक्षस्व पुत्र स्वामेव वाहिनीम्‌ । जात एष तवाभावस्त्वं तु मोहान्न बुध्यसे,वत्स! तुम इस अपनी ही सेनाकी ओर दृष्टिपात करो। यह तुम्हारा विनाशकाल ही उपस्थित हुआ है, परंतु तुम मोहवश इस बातको समझ नहीं रहे हो

aḍjemāṁ samavekṣasva putra svām eva vāhinīm | jāta eṣa tavābhāvas tvaṁ tu mohān na budhyase, vatsa ||

Dhṛtarāṣṭra sprach: „Mein Sohn, betrachte genau dieses Heer, dein eigenes Heer. Deine Stunde des Untergangs ist gekommen; doch von Verblendung umnachtet erkennst du es nicht, mein Kind.“
