वैशम्पायन उवाच जगाम ५ बे सो लिये तौ तेपतुस्तप: । सार्ध देवगणै: सर्वर्बहस्पतिपुरोगमै:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | jagāma brahmavaco śrutvā tau devagaṇaiḥ saha | sarvair bṛhaspatipurogamaiḥ yatra tau ṛṣī tapas tepetuḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Janamejaya, nachdem Indra Brahmās Worte vernommen hatte, begab er sich mit allen Scharen der Götter, angeführt von Bṛhaspati, an jenen Ort, wo die beiden Weisen ihre Askese vollzogen.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the moral hierarchy in which divine powers heed Brahmā’s instruction and approach ascetic sages, implying that tapas and righteous counsel command respect even from the gods.
After hearing Brahmā’s words, Indra—accompanied by all the gods and led by Bṛhaspati—travels to the place where two sages are engaged in austerities.
