Sanatsujāta-Āhvāna (Summoning Sanatsujāta) — Vidura’s Invocation and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Doubt

Educational Q&A

Those trained in adharma and deception lose the disposition to recognize and honor genuine worth; contempt for the honorable becomes a stable habit, showing that ethical decline corrupts both judgment and conduct.

In Sanatsujāta’s instruction (within the Udyoga Parva context of counsel before the great war), he diagnoses the mindset of adharma-driven people: they are clever in deceit yet morally deluded, and therefore they refuse to respect even truly respectable persons.
