Sanatsujāta-Āhvāna (Summoning Sanatsujāta) — Vidura’s Invocation and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Doubt
लोक: स्वभाववृत्तिहिं निमेषोन्मेषवत् सदा । विद्वांसो मानयन्तीह इति मन्येत मानित:
lokaḥ svabhāvavṛttihi nimeṣonmeṣavat sadā | vidvāṁso mānayantīha iti manyeta mānitaḥ ||
Sanatsujāta sagte: „In dieser Welt geht das Verhalten, das aus der eigenen Natur entspringt, unaufhörlich weiter, wie das Öffnen und Schließen der Augen. Darum soll der Geehrte, wenn die Gelehrten hier Ehrerbietung erweisen, so verstehen: ‚Dies ist die natürliche Neigung guter Menschen — Respekt zu erweisen.‘“
