Drupada’s Counsel on Conciliation and Alliance Mobilization
अपन बक। ] अतिफशशा+< चतुथों5 ध्याय: राजा ट्रुपदकी सम्मति दुपद उवाच एवमेतन्महाबाहो भविष्यति न संशय: । न हि दुर्योधनो राज्यं मधुरेण प्रदास्यति,(सात्यकिकी बात सुनकर) द्रपदने कहा--महाबाहो! तुम्हारा कहना ठीक है। इसमें संदेह नहीं कि ऐसा ही होगा; क्योंकि दुर्योधन मधुर व्यवहारसे राज्य नहीं देगा। अपने उस पुत्रके प्रति आसक्त रहनेवाले धृतराष्ट्र भी उसीका अनुसरण करेंगे। भीष्म और द्रोणाचार्य दीनतावश तथा कर्ण और शकुनि मूर्खतावश दुर्योधनका साथ देंगे
drupada uvāca | evam etan mahābāho bhaviṣyati na saṁśayaḥ | na hi duryodhano rājyaṁ madhureṇa pradāsyati |
Drupada sprach: „So ist es, o Starkarmiger; es wird genau so geschehen—ohne jeden Zweifel. Denn Duryodhana wird das Reich weder durch süße Worte noch durch höfliche Überredung herausgeben.“
