Adhyaya 32: Saṃjaya’s Return, Audience with Dhṛtarāṣṭra, and Ethical Admonition
एवमुक्तस्तु विदुर: प्राप्प राजनिवेशनम् | अब्रवीद् धृतराष्ट्राय द्वा:स्थ मां प्रतिवेदय,उसके ऐसा कहनेपर विदुरजी राजमहलके पास जाकर बोले--*द्वारपाल! धृतराष्ट्रको मेरे आनेकी सूचना दे दो”
evam uktas tu viduraḥ prāpya rājaniveśanam | abravīd dhṛtarāṣṭrāya dvāḥstha māṃ prativedaya ||
So angesprochen begab sich Vidura zur königlichen Residenz. Dort sagte er zum Torwächter: „Melde Dhṛtarāṣṭra mein Kommen.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even urgent moral counsel should be delivered with discipline and propriety; Vidura models dharmic conduct by respecting royal procedure while pursuing the king’s ethical correction.
After being addressed earlier, Vidura arrives at the king’s palace and instructs the doorkeeper to announce him to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, setting up a forthcoming conversation or counsel.
