Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 28: Dharmādharmalakṣaṇa in Āpad
Crisis-Discernment of Right and Wrong

Honor and exalted status—whether among gods or in cosmic orders—arise from disciplined, righteous action: renouncing selfish pleasure, restraining the senses, and living by dharma. Greatness is presented as the fruit of karma supported by self-control.
Vāyu is instructing by example: he points to divine beings and even the stars as evidence that eminence is attained through the power of deeds. The verse functions as moral exhortation within the Udyoga Parva’s counsel-oriented setting.
