अथास्रमस्रवद् घोरं गिरेगैरिकधातुवत् । रामेण सुमहाबाहो क्षतस्य छतजेक्षण,लाल नेत्रोंवाले महाबाहु दुर्योधन! परशुरामजीके द्वारा किये हुए उस गहरे आघातसे भयंकर रक्तकी धारा बह चली। मानो पर्वतसे गैरिक धातुमिश्रित जलका झरना झर रहा हो
athāsramasravad ghoraṁ gire gairikadhātuvat | rāmeṇa sumahābāho kṣatasya chatajīkṣaṇa ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Dann, o Duryodhana mit den mächtigen Armen, dessen Augen sich röteten wie der Farbton eines königlichen Schirms, brach aus der tiefen Wunde, die Rāma (Paraśurāma) geschlagen hatte, ein schrecklicher Blutstrom hervor—wie eine Bergquelle, deren Wasser von rotem Ocker gefärbt ist.“
