ततः: समभवद्‌ युद्ध मम तस्य च भारत । तुमुलं सर्वभूतानां लोमहर्षणमद्भुतम्‌,भारत! तदनन्तर मेरा और परशुरामजीका भयंकर युद्ध छिड़ गया, जो समस्त प्राणियोंके रोंगटे खड़े कर देनेवाला और अद्भुत था

tataḥ samabhavad yuddhaṁ mama tasya ca bhārata | tumulaṁ sarvabhūtānāṁ lomaharṣaṇam adbhutam, bhārata ||

Dann, o Bhārata, erhob sich ein Kampf zwischen mir und ihm — ein tosender, erstaunlicher Zweikampf, der allen Lebewesen die Haare zu Berge stehen ließ.
