भीष्म–जामदग्न्यसंवादः (Amba-prasaṅga and Kurukṣetra Dvandva Declaration) / Bhishma–Jamadagnya Dialogue
योत्स्ये त्वया रणे राम सदृशेनाधिकेन वा । गुरुणा धर्मशीलेन जयमाशास्व मे विभो,“भगवन् परशुराम! आप मेरे समान अथवा मुझसे भी अधिक शक्तिशाली हैं। मेरे धर्मात्मा गुरु हैं। मैं इस रणक्षेत्रमें आपके साथ युद्ध करूँगा; अत: आप मुझे विजयके लिये आशीर्वाद दें”
yotsye tvayā raṇe rāma sadṛśenādhikena vā | guruṇā dharmaśīlena jayam āśāsva me vibho ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „O Rama (Paraśurāma), ob du mir im Kampf ebenbürtig bist oder mich gar übertriffst — du bist mein verehrter Lehrer, fest in Dharma. Ich werde auf diesem Schlachtfeld mit dir kämpfen; darum, o Mächtiger, gewähre mir deinen Segen zum Sieg.“
