Educational Q&A

Act according to what is yuktam—what is fitting, reasonable, and dharma-consistent—rather than being driven by partiality; the counsel emphasizes propriety in dealing with powerful parties (Bhīṣma, the Śālva king, or both).

Akṛtavraṇa addresses a Brāhmaṇa adviser, directing him to adopt the proper course of conduct in negotiations or dealings involving Bhīṣma and/or the king of Śālva, stressing correct, situation-appropriate action.
