Nahūṣa’s Fall Explained: Agastya’s Account to Indra (Śalya-narrated)
इन्द्र रवाच स्वागतं ते महर्षेउस्तु प्रीतो5हं दर्शनात् तव । पाद्यमाचमनीयं च गामर्घ्य च प्रतीच्छ मे,इन्द्र बोले--महर्ष! आपका स्वागत है, आपके दर्शनसे मुझे बड़ी प्रसन्नता मिली है, आपकी सेवामें यह पाद्य, अर्घ्य, आचमनीय तथा गौ समर्पित है। आप मेरी दी हुई ये सब वस्तुएँ ग्रहण कीजिये
indra uvāca—svāgataṁ te maharṣe; tuṣṭaḥ prīto ’haṁ darśanāt tava | pādyaṁ ācamanīyaṁ ca gām arghyaṁ ca pratīccha me ||
Indra sprach: „Sei willkommen, großer ṛṣi. Schon dein Anblick erfüllt mich mit Freude und Genugtuung. Nimm von mir die üblichen Gaben der Gastfreundschaft an—Wasser zum Waschen der Füße, Wasser zum rituellen Schluck (ācamanīya), die Arghya-Darbringung und eine Kuh.“
