Bhishma–Dhritarashtra Dialogue: Appraisal of Pandava Strength
पिता त्वस्य महातेजा वृद्धो5पि युवभिर्वर: । रणे कर्म महत् कर्ता अत्र मे नास्ति संशय:
pitā tv asya mahātejā vṛddho 'pi yuvabhir varaḥ | raṇe karma mahat kartā atra me nāsti saṁśayaḥ ||
Bhīṣma sagte: „Sein Vater, der mächtige Droṇa, ist, obwohl hochbetagt, selbst den Jungen überlegen. In diesem Krieg wird er Großes vollbringen; daran habe ich keinen Zweifel.“ Im Zusammenhang bekräftigt Bhīṣma sein Vertrauen in die bewährte Dharma des Pflichtvollzugs und die Waffenmeisterschaft eines Älteren und betont, dass das Alter weder gerechte Entschlossenheit noch Tüchtigkeit mindert, wenn man sich der zugewiesenen Rolle im Kampf verpflichtet weiß.
