Adhyāya 152: Kaurava-sainyavibhāgaḥ
Division and Standardization of the Kaurava Host
When righteous negotiation fails, intense emotion—especially anger—can become the catalyst that pushes leaders toward decisive action. The verse highlights the ethical tension between peace-making and the grim necessity of war when dharma is obstructed.
Vaiśampāyana reports that Kṛṣṇa has not returned with his diplomatic purpose fulfilled. Because the mission remains incomplete, he is expected to be angered and to strongly rouse the Pāṇḍavas toward war, with no doubt about the outcome.
