वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores how war arises not only from anger or insult but from sustained, organized preparation—stockpiling weapons and equipment. Ethically, it highlights the gravity of choosing conflict: once society mobilizes resources for war, the path back to peace becomes harder, and responsibility for consequences deepens.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana describes the extensive armaments assembled across the camps—war-engines, arrows, javelins, axes, bows, armour, spears, and quivers—depicting the scale and readiness of the forces as the Kurukṣetra war approaches.
