निदर्शनान्युपायांश्व बहुन्युद्धर्षणानि च । अनुदर्शितरूपोडसि पश्यामि कुरु पौरुषम्,बेटा! मैंने तुझे अनेक प्रकारके दृष्टान्त, बहुत-से उपाय और कितने ही उत्साहजनक वचन सुनाये हैं। लोकवृत्तान्तका भी बारंबार दिग्दर्शन कराया है। अब तू पुरुषार्थ कर। मैं तेरा पराक्रम देखूँगी
nidārśanāny upāyāṁś ca bahūny uddharṣaṇāni ca | anudarśita-rūpo ’si paśyāmi kuru pauruṣam ||
„Ich habe dir viele Beispiele gezeigt, viele praktische Mittel und viele Worte gesprochen, die deinen Mut entfachen sollen. Auch die Wege der Welt habe ich dir immer wieder vor Augen gestellt. Nun denn: setze deine männliche Kraft ein — lass mich deinen Heldenmut sehen.“
