अदारा-नीति

अथ ये नैव कुर्वन्ति नैव जातु भवन्ति ते । ऐकगुण्यमनीहायामभाव: कर्मणां फलम्‌

atha ye naiva kurvanti naiva jātu bhavanti te | aikaguṇyam anīhāyām abhāvaḥ karmaṇāṃ phalam ||

Doch wer überhaupt nicht handelt —niemals, unter keinen Umständen— wird in der Welt nicht zu einem wahrhaft wirksamen Handelnden. In einem einseitigen Zustand von Trägheit und mangelndem Bemühen ist das Ergebnis des Handelns nur Abwesenheit: Es entsteht keine Frucht.
