Udyoga Parva Adhyaya 133 — A Mother’s Counsel to Saṃjaya
पृष्ठतो<नुव्रजन्तं वा का शान्तिहदयस्य मे । यदि मैं यह देखूँ कि तू शत्रुसे मीठी-मीठी बातें करता तथा उसके पीछे-पीछे जाता है तो मेरे हृदयमें क्या शान्ति मिलेगी?
pṛṣṭhato 'nuvrajantaṃ vā kā śāntir hṛdayasya me | yadi māṃ etad dṛśyāt ki tvaṃ śatruse mīṭhī-mīṭhī bātẽ karatā tathā tasya pṛṣṭhataḥ pṛṣṭhataḥ gacchasi iti, tarhi mama hṛdaye kā śāntiḥ syāt ||
„Oder wenn ich sehe, dass du hinter ihm hergehst — welchen Frieden könnte mein Herz dann finden? Wenn es mir so erscheint, dass du dem Feind süße, beschwichtigende Worte sagst und ihm dann nachfolgst, wie sollte mein Herz je zur Ruhe kommen?“
