उद्योगपर्व अध्याय १३३ — संजये मातृउपदेशः
Udyoga Parva Adhyaya 133 — A Mother’s Counsel to Saṃjaya
युवा रूपेण सम्पन्नो विद्ययाभिजनेन च । यत् त्वादृशो विकुर्वीत यशस्वी लोकविश्रुत:
yuvā rūpeṇa sampanno vidyayābhijanena ca | yat tvādṛśo vikurvīta yaśasvī lokaviśrutaḥ ||
Der Sohn sprach: „Mit Jugend und schöner Gestalt begabt, dazu mit Wissen und edler Herkunft—wie könnte ein ruhmreicher Mann, in der Welt berühmt, ein Verhalten begehen wie das, das du jetzt an den Tag legst?“
पुत्र उवाच
Outer advantages—youth, beauty, education, and noble birth—create a higher ethical expectation. A person famed in society should act in a way that protects dharma and reputation, not in a manner that invites blame.
A son addresses a respected, well-known man and rebukes him, questioning how someone with such qualities and public renown could behave in a way that seems improper or unworthy.
