Udyoga Parva Adhyaya 133 — A Mother’s Counsel to Saṃjaya
अर्थवन्त्युपपन्नानि वाक्यानि गुणवन्ति च | नैव सम्प्राप्तुवन्ति त्वां मुमूर्षमिव भेषजम्
arthavanty upapannāni vākyāni guṇavanti ca | naiva samprāptuvanti tvāṃ mumūrṣam iva bheṣajam ||
Worte, die sinnvoll, wohlbegründet und reich an Tugend sind, erreichen dein Herz dennoch nicht—wie ein Heilmittel bei einem Sterbenden nicht mehr wirkt. Das ist die beklagte, schmerzliche Wahrheit: Wenn der innere Entschluss auf Verderben festgelegt ist, wird selbst guter Rat machtlos.
