माधवी-प्रदानम् (Mādhavī Offered to Gālava) — Udyoga Parva 113
पात्र प्रतिग्रहस्यायं दातुं पात्र तथा भवान् | शड्खे क्षीरमिवासिक्त भवत्वेतत् तथोपमम्,'ये गालव दान लेनेके सुयोग्य पात्र हैं और आप दान करनेके श्रेष्ठ अधिकारी हैं। जैसे शंखमें दूध रखा गया हो, उसी प्रकार इनके हाथमें दिए हुए आपके इस दानकी शोभा होगी”
pātra-pratigrahasyāyaṁ dātuṁ pātra tathā bhavān | śaṅkhe kṣīram ivāsiktaṁ bhavatv etat tathopamam ||
Nārada sprach: „Gālava ist ein würdiger Empfänger einer Gabe, und auch du bist ein würdiger Geber. Möge diese Gabe, in seine Hände gelegt, in angemessener Vorzüglichkeit erstrahlen — wie Milch, die in eine Śaṅkha-Muschel gegossen wird, deren Reinheit und Schönheit durch ein reines Gefäß noch erhöht werden.“
