Approaching supreme authority should be done with humility and proper guidance. The nāga is escorted by Kaṇva and Nārada, suggesting that access to power (Indra) is ethically mediated through wisdom, restraint, and qualified mentors.
Kaṇva instructs that the serpent-prince should accompany him and Nārada to Indra, the ruler of the gods, in order to meet and behold him—setting up a formal audience with the divine king.
