[दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठके ६ श्लोक मिलाकर कुल ६५ “लोक हैं।] ऑपन-आक्ाा बा हर: दशमो< ध्याय: इन्द्रसहित देवताओंका भगवान् विष्णुकी शरणमें जाना और इन्द्रका उनके अज्ञानुसार वृत्रासुरसे संधि करके के अवसर पाकर उसे मारना एवं ब्रह्महत्याके भयसे जलमें छिपना इन्द्र उवाच सर्व व्याप्तमिदं देवा वृत्रेण जगदव्ययम् । न हास्य सदृशं किंचित् प्रतिघाताय यद् भवेत्
indra uvāca | sarva-vyāptam idaṃ devā vṛtreṇa jagad avyayam | na hāsya sadṛśaṃ kiṃcit pratighātāya yad bhavet ||
Indra sprach: „O Götter, diese ganze unvergängliche Welt ist von Vṛtra überrannt worden. Nichts ist ihm gleich—es gibt weder Waffe noch Gegenkraft, die ihn niederstrecken könnte.“
