Even at the culmination of life’s journey, dharma is upheld through dāna and respectful hospitality: feeding worthy brāhmaṇas with pure, consecrated food (haviṣya) is presented as a meritorious act aligned with ritual and ethical purity.
In the Svargārohaṇa context, Vaiśampāyana states a prescriptive rule: one should also, in this final parvan, feed the twice-born with haviṣya. The instruction reinforces end-of-journey rites and the continuing importance of charitable, dharmic conduct.
