Gandhārī’s Confrontation and Consolation of Yudhiṣṭhira
अपश्यदेतान् शस्त्रौचैर्बहुधा क्षतविक्षतान् | पुत्रोंसहित आँसू बहाकर उन्होंने उनके शरीरोंपर बारंबार दृष्टिपात किया। वे सभी अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंकी चोटसे घायल हो रहे थे ।। ३४ # || सा तानेकैकश: पुत्रान् संस्पृशन्ती पुन: पुनः:
sa tān ekaikaśaḥ putrān saṁspṛśantī punaḥ punaḥ
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Sie sah sie, auf vielerlei Weise von Waffen verwundet und zerschunden. Unter Tränen ließ sie ihren Blick immer wieder über ihre Körper gleiten, als wolle sie bestätigen, was die Gewalt des Krieges unerträglich gemacht hatte. Und sie berührte ihre Söhne, einen nach dem anderen, wieder und wieder — in schmerzhafter Wiedererkennung und im Pflichtgefühl einer Mutter.
