स गज्जायामुपस्पृश्य पुण्यगन्धि पय:ः शुचि । त॑ देशमुपसम्पेदे परमर्षिमनोजव:

sa gajjāyām upaspṛśya puṇya-gandhi payaḥ śuci | taṁ deśam upasampede paramarṣim ano-javaḥ ||

Nachdem er in Gajjā die rituelle Reinigung mit klarem, von Heiligkeit duftendem Wasser vollzogen hatte, begab er sich—schnell wie der Gedanke—an jenen Ort, wo der höchste Seher weilte. Der Vers betont die ethische Haltung beim Nahen an einen verehrten Weisen: Die innere Absicht wird durch äußere Reinheit und ehrfürchtige Vorbereitung gestützt.
