विक्रमेण महीं लब्ध्वा प्रजा धर्मेण पालयेत् । आहवे निधन कुर्याद् राजा धर्मपरायण:,पराक्रमसे इस पृथ्वीको प्राप्त करके धर्मपरायण राजा अपनी प्रजाका धर्मपूर्वक पालन करे तथा युद्धमें शत्रुओंका संहार कर डाले
vikrameṇa mahīṃ labdhvā prajā dharmeṇa pālayet | āhave nidhanaṃ kuryād rājā dharmaparāyaṇaḥ ||
Hat ein König die Erde durch Tapferkeit errungen, so soll er, dem Dharma ergeben, seine Untertanen nach der Gerechtigkeit schützen; und in der Schlacht soll er die Vernichtung seiner Feinde bewirken—nicht aus bloßer Angriffslust, sondern als Herrscher, der den Pflichten des Königtums verpflichtet ist.
