धर्मज्ञ: सचिव: कश्चित् तत् तत्पश्येदतन्द्रित: । इन अधिपतियोंके अधिकारमें जो युद्धसम्बन्धी तथा गाँवोंके प्रबन्धसम्बन्धी कार्य सौंपे गये हों, उनकी देखभाल कोई आलस्यरहित धर्मज्ञ मन््त्री किया करे
dharmajñaḥ sacivaḥ kaścit tat tat paśyed atandritaḥ |
Bhishma sprach: „Ein rechtschaffener und scharfsinniger Minister, frei von Trägheit, soll unablässig jede Angelegenheit überwachen—vor allem jene Pflichten, die im Zuständigkeitsbereich der Amtsträger liegen, wie Kriegsangelegenheiten und die Verwaltung der Dörfer.“
