राजवृत्त-रक्षा-प्रणिधि-षाड्गुण्योपदेशः

Royal Conduct, Protection, Intelligence, and Policy Measures

न लभेद्‌ धर्मसंश्लेषं हतविप्रहतो जन: । हर्ता स्वस्थेन्द्रियो गच्छेद्‌ यदि राजा न पालयेत्‌,यदि राजा पालन न करे तो मनुष्य हताहत होकर धर्मका सम्पर्क छोड़ दें और चोर घरका मालमत्ता लेकर अपने शरीर और इन्द्रियोंपर आँच आये बिना ही सकुशल लौट जायूँ

na labhed dharma-saṁśleṣaṁ hata-viprahato janaḥ | hartā svasthendriyo gacched yadi rājā na pālayet ||

Vasumanā sagte: „Wenn der König (seine Untertanen und das Reich) nicht schützt, werden die Menschen—niedergeschlagen und bedrängt—jede Verbindung zum Dharma verlieren; und der Dieb wird, nachdem er fremdes Gut an sich genommen hat, unversehrt an Leib und Sinnen sicher davonkommen.“
