दानपात्रापात्र-निर्णयः / Determining Worthy Gifts, Recipients, and Permissible Food

मन्त्रैर भ्यर्चितं पुण्यै: स्तूयमान श्च॒ बन्दिभि: | आरुरोह यथा देव: सोमो5मृतमयं रथम्‌,नगरमें प्रवेश करते समय धर्मज्ञ कुन्तीपुत्र युधिष्ठिरने देवताओं तथा सहखसों ब्राह्मणोंका पूजन किया। तदनन्तर कम्बल और मृगचर्मसे ढके हुए एक नूतन उज्ज्वल रथपर जिसकी पवित्र मन्त्रोंद्वारा पूजा की गयी थी तथा जिसमें शुभ लक्षणसम्पन्न सोलह सफेद बैल जुते हुए थे, वे बन्दीजनोंके मुखसे अपनी स्तुति सुनते हुए उसी प्रकार सवार हुए, जैसे चन्द्रदेव अपने अमृतमय रथपर आखरूढ़ होते हैं

mantrair abhyarcitaṃ puṇyaiḥ stūyamānaś ca bandibhiḥ | āruroha yathā devaḥ somo 'mṛtamayaṃ ratham ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Mit heiligen, glückverheißenden Mantras geehrt und von den Hofbarden laut gepriesen, bestieg Yudhiṣṭhira seinen neu bereiteten, strahlenden Wagen—wie der Gott Soma (der Mond) seinen nektargleichen Wagen besteigt. Die Szene betont seinen dharmagemäßen Einzug: öffentliche Verehrung, Ehrfurcht vor den Gelehrten und ein geweihter königlicher Zug, der Souveränität als moralische und rituelle Verantwortung zeigt, nicht als bloße Macht.
