दानपात्रापात्र-निर्णयः / Determining Worthy Gifts, Recipients, and Permissible Food
युधिछिर उवाच वैशसं सुमहत् कृत्वा ज्ञातीनां रोमहर्षणम् । आगस्कृत् सर्वलोकस्य पृथिवीनाशकारक:,युधिष्ठिर बोले--मुने! मैं अपने भाई-बन्धुओंका यह महान् एवं रोमाञ्चकारी संहार करके सम्पूर्ण लोकोंका अपराधी बन गया हूँ। मैंने इस सम्पूर्ण भूमण्डलका विनाश किया है। भीष्मजी सरलतापूर्वक युद्ध करनेवाले थे तो भी मैंने युद्धमें उन्हें छलसे मरवा डाला। अब फिर उन्हींसे मैं अपनी शड़काओंको पूछूँ, क्या इसके योग्य मैं रह गया हूँ? अब मैं किस हेतुसे उन्हें मुँह दिखा सकता हूँ?
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca
vaiśaṃsaṃ sumahat kṛtvā jñātīnāṃ romaharṣaṇam |
āgaskṛt sarvalokasya pṛthivīnāśakārakaḥ ||
Yudhiṣṭhira sprach: „O Muni! Nachdem ich eine überaus große Grausamkeit begangen habe—ein haarsträubendes Gemetzel an meinen eigenen Verwandten—bin ich vor allen Welten zum Schuldigen geworden. Ich war die Ursache für die Verwüstung der ganzen Erde.“
