Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel (अतिथिसत्कारः प्रज्ञानवचनस्य च पराश्वासनम्)

ब्रह्मा वृतो देवगणैरऋषिभि श्ष महात्मभि: । आजगामाशु त॑ देशं यत्र युद्धमवर्तत

brahmā vṛto devagaṇair ṛṣibhiś ca mahātmabhiḥ | ājagāmāśu taṁ deśaṁ yatra yuddham avartata |

Umgeben von Scharen der Götter und großbeseelten Sehern kam Brahmā eilends an eben jenen Ort, wo die Schlacht wütete. Der Vers rahmt den Krieg als Ereignis von kosmischer und moralischer Tragweite: Wenn unheilvolle Zeichen erscheinen, treten die höchsten göttlichen und weisen Autoritäten selbst hervor, als wollten sie bezeugen, zügeln oder den Lauf des Dharma im Sturm der Gewalt neu ausrichten.
