धर्मद्वारबहुत्वविमर्शः — Reflection on the Many ‘Doors’ of Dharma (Śānti-parva 342)
वक्तुमर्हसि शुश्रूषो: प्रजापतिपतेह॑रे: । श्रुत्वा भवेयं यत् पूत: शरच्चन्द्र इवामल:,जनमेजयने कहा--भगवन्! शिष्योंसहित महर्षि व्यासने जिन नाना प्रकारके नामोंद्वारा इन मधुसूदनका स्तवन किया था, उनका निर्वचन (व्युत्पत्ति) मुझे बतानेकी कृपा करें। मैं प्रजापतियोंके पति भगवान् श्रीहरिके नामोंकी व्याख्या सुनना चाहता हूँ; क्योंकि उन्हें सुनकर मैं शरच्चन्द्रके समान निर्मल एवं पवित्र हो जाऊँगा
Janamejaya uvāca | vaktum arhasi śuśrūṣoḥ prajāpati-pateḥ hareḥ | śrutvā bhaveyaṁ yat pūtaḥ śarac-candra ivāmalaḥ ||
Janamejaya sprach: „Du sollst es mir darlegen, denn ich bin begierig, von Hari zu hören, dem Herrn der Prajāpatis. Durch das Hören (der Bedeutung) seiner Namen werde ich geläutert werden — klar und makellos wie der Herbstmond.“
