देवो<स्माभिरनन दृष्ट: स कथं त्वं द्रष्टमहसि । “बृहस्पते! इस प्रकार हमने बड़ी भारी तपस्या की
devo ’smābhir ananadṛṣṭaḥ sa kathaṁ tvaṁ draṣṭum arhasi |
Die Devas sprachen: „Wir selbst konnten jenen Gott nicht schauen. Wie solltest du dann würdig sein, Ihn zu sehen? Obwohl wir gewaltige Askesen auf uns nahmen und den Herrn mit Oblationen und Opfergaben verehrten, wurde uns Seine Schau nicht zuteil—wie könntest du, ohne Mühe, Seine unmittelbare Sicht erlangen, o Bṛhaspati?“
