यूयं जिज्ञासवो भक्ता: कथं द्रक्ष्यथ तं॑ विभुम् “ब्राह्मणो! तुमने प्रसन्न हृदयसे भलीभाँति तप किया है। तुम भगवानके भक्त हो और यह जानना चाहते हो कि उन सर्वव्यापी परमात्माका दर्शन कैसे हो? ।।
bhīṣma uvāca |
yūyaṃ jijñāsavo bhaktāḥ kathaṃ drakṣyatha taṃ vibhum |
kṣīrodadher uttarataḥ śvetadvīpo mahāprabhaḥ |
Bhīṣma sprach: „Ihr seid hingebungsvolle Sucher, begierig zu wissen: Wie werdet ihr jenen allgegenwärtigen Herrn schauen? Nördlich vom Milchozean liegt die strahlende Weiße Insel (Śvetadvīpa), o Mächtiger.“
भीष्म उवाच
Sincere devotion joined with genuine inquiry is presented as the proper disposition for divine vision; Bhishma points toward Śvetadvīpa as the sacred locus associated with beholding the all-pervading Lord.
Bhishma addresses devoted seekers who ask how the Supreme can be seen, and he begins to answer by indicating a specific transcendent geography: Śvetadvīpa, situated to the north of the Ocean of Milk.
