शिष्याणां वचन श्रुत्वा पराशरसुतः प्रभु: । प्रत्युवाच ततो वाक्यं धर्मार्थसहितं हितम्,शिष्योंकी यह बात सुनकर पराशरनन्दन भगवान् व्यास यह धर्म और अर्थयुक्त हितकर वचन बोले
śiṣyāṇāṁ vacanaṁ śrutvā parāśarasutaḥ prabhuḥ | pratyuvāca tato vākyaṁ dharmārthasahitaṁ hitam ||
Als er die Worte seiner Schüler vernommen hatte, erwiderte der ehrwürdige Vyāsa, Sohn des Parāśara, mit einer heilsamen Rede—im Dharma gegründet und dem rechten Zweck gemäß—und wies sie auf das wahrhaft Gute hin.
