Saṃhāra-krama (The Sequence of Cosmic Dissolution) — Yājñavalkya’s Discourse
विपन्ना धारणास्तात नयन्ति न शुभां गतिम् । नेतृहीना यथा नाव: पुरुषानर्णवे नूप
vipannā dhāraṇās tāta nayanti na śubhāṃ gatim | netṛhīnā yathā nāvaḥ puruṣān arṇave nṛpa ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Mein Lieber, misslungene oder unvollkommene Übungen der dhāraṇā (Konzentration) führen nicht zu einem glückverheißenden Ende. Wie ein Boot ohne Steuermann die Menschen nicht über den Ozean bringt, so können auch die Praktiken der dhāraṇā, wenn sie nicht recht begründet sind, weder auf den guten Pfad noch zu höherer Vollendung führen.“
