भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores how overwhelming, disordering forces can shake even divine assemblies, implying that maintaining dharma and cosmic stability is not automatic; when a disruptive power arises, fear and flight replace composure, highlighting the need for restraint, right order, and protection of sacred spaces.
A formidable being (referred to simply as “that one”) roams everywhere and rushes toward the gods and the sages. Alarmed by its approach, the gods become frightened and scatter, fleeing into all ten directions.
