मोक्षोपाय-निर्णयः
Determination of the Means to Liberation
पादोनेनापि धर्मेण गच्छेत् त्रेतायुगे तथा । द्वापरे तु द्विपादेन पादेन त्वधरे युगे
pādonenāpi dharmeṇa gacchet tretāyuge tathā | dvāpare tu dvipādena pādena tvadhare yuge ||
Humatsena sprach: „Selbst wenn das Dharma um ein Viertel gemindert ist, kann man in der Tretā-Zeit noch voranschreiten. In der Dvāpara-Zeit steht das Dharma auf zwei Vierteln; doch in der späteren (Kali-)Zeit steht es nur noch auf einem Viertel. Die Lehre besagt: Die moralische Tragkraft der Welt nimmt über die Yugas hinweg ab; daher muss ethisches Bemühen vor dem Hintergrund der jeweils geringeren Beständigkeit der Rechtschaffenheit verstanden werden.“
