मोक्षोपाय-निर्णयः

Determination of the Means to Liberation

उद्वेजनेन बन्धेन विरूपकरणेन च । वधदण्डेन ते क्लिश्या न पुरोहितसंसदि

udvejanena bandhena virūpakaraṇena ca | vadhadaṇḍena te kliśyā na purohitasaṃsadi ||

Dyumatsena sprach: „Solche Täter soll man durch Einschüchterung, durch Haft oder durch eine körperliche Entstellung, die sie sichtbar zeichnet, in Schranken halten; doch soll man sie nicht mit der Todesstrafe quälen, die nur ihren Familien Leid bringt. Ebenso soll der König, selbst wenn sie in der Versammlung oder unter dem Schutz eines priesterlichen Brāhmaṇa Zuflucht gesucht haben, keine Hinrichtung über sie verhängen.“
