Kapila–Cow Dialogue: Authority of Householder and Renunciant Dharmas
ततस्तु कालसमये बभूवुस्ते5थ पक्षिण: । बुबुधे तांस्तु स मुनिर्जातपक्षान् कुलिड्रकान्
tatastu kālasamaye babhūvus te ’tha pakṣiṇaḥ | bubudhe tāṁs tu sa munir jātapakṣān kuliḍrakān ||
Dann, als die rechte Zeit gekommen war, bekamen jene Vögel Flügel. Der Weise bemerkte, dass die jungen kuliḍraka nun Federn angesetzt hatten—ein Zeichen, dass die Zeit des Wartens und Behütens ihr natürliches Ende erreicht hatte.
भीष्म उवाच
One should act in alignment with kāla (the right time): protect and nurture until maturity is reached, then recognize the natural completion of one’s duty without impatience or neglect.
After some time passes, the young birds grow wings. The sage observes and understands that the fledglings have become capable—marking a transition point in the episode.
